Privacy Policy

Overview

BindNotes is a notebook drawing app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your privacy is important. In short: we do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.

Data Storage

All notebooks, pages, drawings, and links you create in BindNotes are stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud Drive container, depending on your settings. You control where your vault is located.

  • BindNotes does not have a server. Your data never leaves your device except through Apple iCloud Drive, which you control.
  • A local SQLite index is stored in your app's private directory for performance. This data is not synced or shared.
  • We have no access to your files, notebooks, or any content you create.

Data We Do Not Collect

BindNotes does not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Payment or billing information

Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, process, or store any payment information. All billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles payment data.

iCloud

If you choose to store your vault in iCloud Drive, your data is synced through Apple's iCloud service. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your iCloud settings. BindNotes uses the CloudDocuments service — we do not use CloudKit databases or any Apple server-side processing.

Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your data, including backing up your notebooks and managing your vault location. BindNotes stores files where you direct it to — if you delete files, change your iCloud settings, or modify your vault folder outside the app, data loss may occur. We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from your actions or from third-party services such as iCloud.

Third-Party Services

BindNotes does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service involved is Apple iCloud Drive, which is optional and user-controlled.

Children's Privacy

BindNotes does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Since we collect no data at all, there are no special provisions required.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
